Jennifer McClellan voices concerns over defense and intelligence appointments

Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, representing Virginia's 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has been vocal on social media regarding her views on key national security appointments. Her recent tweets express concerns about the qualifications of two potential candidates for significant defense and intelligence positions.

On December 8, 2024, McClellan tweeted about her appearance on a show hosted by Katie Phang to discuss Pete Hegseth's candidacy for Secretary of Defense. She stated, "ICYMI, I joined @katiephangshow to discuss why Pete Hegseth is unqualified and unfit to serve as Secretary of Defense."

Following this tweet, she encouraged viewers to watch her full interview by providing a link in another post from the same date: "Watch my full interview at https://t.co/lqt6Q8tNIa".

On December 9, 2024, McClellan addressed another national security concern regarding Tulsi Gabbard's suitability for the position of Director of National Intelligence. She tweeted: "Our nation’s next Director of National Intelligence should have unquestionable qualifications and a deep respect for our national security. Tulsi Gabbard does not meet these standards."
