On February 22, 2025, McClellan addressed rumors concerning the dismissal of General CQ Brown as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by former President Trump. She stated: "Today, I spoke to @13NewsNow about rumors Trump may fire General CQ Brown as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Trump has since fired him." She further commented on Trump's actions: "Trump is purging those who put their oath to preserve, protect and defend the U.S. Constitution over blind loyalty to him."

In a subsequent tweet posted shortly after, McClellan urged her followers to read her full statement regarding what she termed as a "late-Friday purge" involving General CQ Brown. Emphasizing the importance of governance principles, she added: "To prevent this, we must uphold proper checks and balances to limit this power."
