On the same day, she encouraged participation in an essay contest dedicated to Black History Month. She tweeted: "You can still submit essays for my Black History Month Essay Contest. Later that day, McClellan commemorated a pivotal moment in civil rights history by recalling the actions of the Greensboro Four. She posted: "Sixty-five years ago today, the Greensboro Four sat at the lunch counter of the F. W. Woolworth Company store..." highlighting their courageous sit-in that led to desegregation at Woolworth after five months of protests.
