Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan recently engaged with the public on various platforms, sharing insights and extending holiday wishes. McClellan, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Virginia’s 4th district since 2023, has a long-standing career in public service having previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates and Virginia Senate.
On April 11, McClellan announced her participation in #BlackMaternalHealthWeek, where she addressed the importance of maternal health and racial disparities at the Birth in Color Annual Black Maternal Health Summit. She expressed concern about the Trump Administration’s stance on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Later that day, McClellan commented on the actions of House Republicans, stating that they voted to cut health care for millions of Americans and imposed a modern-day poll tax on millions more. She encouraged her audience to stay informed about the week's events.
On April 12, McClellan extended religious well-wishes by acknowledging Passover, writing, "Chag Pesach sameach! Wishing all who celebrate a blessed Passover."
Jennifer McClellan, born in Petersburg, Virginia, holds degrees from the University of Richmond and the University of Virginia. Her contributions have been noted in Virginia politics since 2006 when she first served in the Virginia House of Delegates.
