Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, representing Virginia’s 4th district, shared insights and historical reflections on her social media platform. McClellan has been an active voice in Congress since 2023 after replacing Donald McEachin. Her recent posts highlight significant moments in African American history and ongoing issues within her constituency.

On February 4, 2025, Congresswoman McClellan commemorated the ratification of the 15th Amendment in 1870, which granted Black men the right to vote. She noted that despite this promise, "After Reconstruction, states across the south used poll taxes, literacy tests and violence to keep them from doing so." It took nearly a century for these rights to be enforced effectively "The 15th Amendment was ratified OTD in 1870".

Later that day, she reflected on Rosa Parks' birth anniversary. She challenged common perceptions by stating that Parks was more than just gentle and soft-spoken; she was a "prominent community organizer," whose actions were part of broader collective efforts during the civil rights movement "OTD 112 years ago, Rosa Parks was born."

Additionally, McClellan addressed local concerns about mail delivery issues in Central Virginia. While improvements have been noted, she emphasized that services are not yet meeting customer expectations. She discussed her initiatives with CBS6 to hold USPS accountable for better service "Mail delivery issues are getting better in Central Virginia".
