Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, representing Virginia’s 4th district since 2023, has been vocal on the issue of drug overdoses and the role of community health centers. In a series of tweets dated February 7, 2025, she highlighted the impact of funding freezes on these centers.

In her first tweet, Congresswoman McClellan stated, "In a hearing on combating drug overdoses, I joined @EnergyCommerce to discuss the importance of community health centers to the fight. Trump's funding freeze cut 16 of Virginia's 31 community health centers off from critical funds. At least 3 in VA-04 have closed as a result." She expressed concern over how these funding issues have led to closures in her district.

A subsequent tweet encouraged followers to access more information through an audio link: "Listen to the full questioning here: https://t.co/GkGF9ows35"

Later that day, McClellan further elaborated on the challenges faced by Community Health Centers due to administrative actions: "Community Health Centers can't access crucial federal funding — and some are closing — thanks to the Trump Administration's illegal federal funding freeze, despite a court order blocking it. I joined @MarkWarner, @SenTimKaine and 17 congressional Democrats to demand answers." This statement emphasized her collaboration with other political figures seeking solutions.
