Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, representing Virginia's 4th district, has expressed her concerns regarding the proposed budget cuts by the Trump-Vance Administration. Through a series of tweets, she addresses issues ranging from public health funding to historical commemorations.

On February 9, 2025, McClellan criticized the Trump-Vance Administration's proposal to cut funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She warned that these reductions would have dire consequences, stating: "The Trump-Vance Administration's proposed cuts to NIH will cost American lives and set us back in our medical research and innovation. In Virginia, these cuts threaten thousands of jobs and hundreds of millions of dollars in funding and economic activity."

The following day on February 10, 2025, McClellan took to social media again to highlight an important historical figure during Black History Month. She reminded her audience about Crispus Attucks' role in American history with this message: "The first casualty of the American Revolution was Crispus Attucks. The first to fall during the Boston Massacre on March 5, 1770, he became a martyr for American colonists eager to break from British rule. #BlackHistoryMonth #BHM2025"
