Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, who represents Virginia's 4th district in the U.S. Congress, has shared a series of tweets addressing concerns about the impact of policies from the Trump Administration. McClellan, who took office in 2023 following her tenure in the Virginia House of Delegates and Senate, has been vocal about issues affecting her constituents.
On March 5, 2025, McClellan highlighted the story of Jeanne Robinson to illustrate her point on healthcare policies. She stated: "Americans like my guest tonight, Jeanne Robinson, will suffer because of the Trump Administration’s policies. Thanks to Medicaid, Jeanne can care for her disabled grandson without sacrificing her family’s financial stability — a testament to the true value of care."
In another tweet posted on the same day, she criticized economic measures under Trump's administration. She expressed concern that "Trump’s tariffs and economic policies will raise prices on everything from groceries to gasoline, toys to technology, and housing to healthcare."
Further emphasizing her stance against proposed changes in healthcare policy, McClellan argued against abandoning vulnerable families. She wrote: "We should not abandon families like Jeanne’s and strip healthcare from children, pregnant and postpartum women, veterans, seniors, and the disabled because an out-of-touch billionaire deems them inefficient and not profitable enough. It’s not who we are, and we will fight back."
