Congresswoman Jennifer McClellan, representing Virginia’s 4th District in the U.S. Congress, took to social media to address several issues related to her legislative work. Having stepped into her current position following the tenure of Donald McEachin in 2023, McClellan has a longstanding history of public service, including her time in the Virginia House of Delegates and State Senate.

On April 10, 2025, McClellan invited her followers to “Read my statement here:” through a post made at 16:36 UTC. The statement presumably elaborates on her current political activities and stands on various issues.

Later that day, at 20:08:50 UTC, McClellan emphasized the importance of civil servants in a functioning government. She stated, “Our civil servants are the backbone of a government that serves the people, not political whims.” She further noted her collaborative efforts with Representatives Nikema, Raskin, and April Delaney on the SERVICE Act and the Ensuring Agency Service Quality Act. The purpose of these acts is to protect government workers from what she describes as “reckless cuts that undermine” their roles.

In continuation of her earlier posts, at 20:09:13 UTC, McClellan again directed her audience to additional resources by stating, “Read the release here:.” This further suggests links to more detailed documents or press releases concerning her legislative efforts.

Jennifer McClellan, 50, who was born in Petersburg, Virginia, currently resides in Richmond. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia. Her legislative work continues to focus on supporting the workforce within government institutions and maintaining their non-partisan integrity.
